Wedding at Elms Barn, Suffolk | Andrea and Al

Man alive, I have so much to blog from over the summer.

Let’s kick off with the wedding of Al and Andrea at the glorious country wedding venue of Elms Barn on the border of Suffolk and Norfolk.

The trick with this wedding was to balance the bride’s wish of pure documentary wedding photography, with a groom who is… well, he’s not shy, put it that way!

Andrea had lots of gorgeous bridesmaids and they all got ready in one of the suites at Elms Barn.

I love this one! The girls had all had their hair straightened and it was looking so sleek and shiny. I told them how lovely they looked and made a noise like a cat purring whereupon they spontaneously started stroking each other.

A very stylish black and white theme for the girls.

So whilst all of that was going on, Al and his brother had time for a bit of rugby practice out in the garden.

I think I told him he looked like Heathcliff

OK so back in the bride’s room Andrea was having trouble getting her earring in, so her bridesmaid was there to gently guide it through.

Elms Barn has a very cosy feel to it. I think it would also be fantastic for a winter wedding.

With many of the guests having connections with music, the table names were album covers

There were mini speeches from some of Al’s friends, who had some interesting tales to tell

And, some might say, a surprisingly touching one from Al’s best man Chris.

Then Al went into rock star mode.

Such a great wedding, full of emotion and great characters. A real pleasure to photograph.

I received this from the couple:

“Absolutely … awesome! We just had an hour of laughter and tears as the slide show played. Massive massive thank you.”
